Background

Bauxite is the key feedstock to a global US$100 billion aluminium market that is growing at 3.5% annually. Guinea is home to the world’s largest reserves of bauxite, with an estimated 40 billion tonnes. Aluminium is considered to be the metal of the future due to its lightweight properties, low carbon footprint, and widespread usage in major industrial sectors such as construction, aviation, and automobiles.
